We’re a week out from the start of this summer’s USA Water Polo National Junior Olympics, and Texas teams are already arriving in California for some pre-tournament training. Thirty-six Forty Texan teams have qualified for the world’s biggest tournament. Those selections were made at the end of the largest ever Southwest Zone Championships, which took place over two weekends from June 7 to June 16 in Houston.

Among the first teams to land in the Golden State are the Viper Pigeons, whose boys will take part in the Hale Summer Championships beginning on Friday in California’s Inland Empire. They will later train with San Diego Shores before kicking off their Junior Olympics the following weekend.
