The rest of the 2020 Texas high school water polo season is to be cancelled.
That according to TISCA Water Polo Chairperson Scott Slay who confirmed that, with today’s announcement by the UIL regarding the suspension of all remaining spring sports activities, TISCA Water Polo will follow suit.
“[W]e can assume that if they [the UIL] are done so are we,” he wrote in a text to TXWaterpolo. No statement has yet been released by the organizing body.
The move comes after Slay announced that TISCA Water Polo “will follow the UIL playing guidelines sent out regarding COVID-19,” in a March 15 statement by West Region Chair Ally Hill.
The season ends with the St. Mark’s School boys and Foster girls earning top rankings in TXWaterpolo’s final coaches’ poll on March 10.
